Love Doesn’t Last Forever

People talk about relationship like it’s a goal. Like there is an end that we need to achieve. Like it is something that needs to be completed. People make targets on relationship like it’s some kind of a business plan.

“Need to have a boyfriend/girlfriend next month… Get engaged after 1 year… Get married by 25… Have 3 kids by 30… Blah blah blah blah”

Say that the relationship is finally complete when we have all that. And then what?

When all the butterflies are gone, and the electrical sensation is non-existent, what are you going to do next?

I’m sorry to break it to you, but love doesn’t last forever. Those fairy tale with happily ever after ending is just a fairy tale. After all, do you really know what happen to Cinderella and Prince Charming after the story ends? Exactly.

Relationship doesn’t need all those targets to be complete. If there is any target, that is to fall in love all over again with the same person every day.

Love takes work.

If you want to make it last, make it work.
